Since there's some talk about the actors and who we'd want to play the characters, lets talk about the plot in general.
As with most adaptions, there will probably be changes. Things will be added or deleted from the story. So far we don't know how many episodes are commissioned for the series (I think). The book isn't enormous but it is long and there are a lot of little silly tidbits throughout. There's also a lot of flashback thought that helps for character development, but isn't said (like Crowley liking to sleep, and Aziraphale not sleeping). Will they change the bits that they keep into dialogue? Or will they tell it through action? They're going to need to find a good balance between the humor and moving the plot along steadily without sacrificing character development.
So what scenes are you excited to see played out in the mini series? What scenes do you think will be omitted?
To start I'm pretty psyched to just see the opening sequence. I'm wondering how they're going to do it especially how they're going to make Crawly. CGI snake? Puppet? A real one? CGI is probably more likely haha.

This is a great topic since I'm actually a little more curious on how they're going to handle dividing the story into episodes. We know that it's going to be a miniseries, so it's not like it's going to be a lasting series like Dr. Who. Changes will definitely made and most likely some deleted scenes from the book for the sake of having a flowing episode. I'm just praying that they won't delete any major important scenes. I would like to see quick flashbacks, like Crowley sleeping through the 19th Century. Just a quick shot of the sleeping demon and maybe Aziraphale busy living in that period. Crawley will probably be CGI. Hopefully decent CGI, too. XD I watch Merlin sometimes and as much as I love that show, sometimes the effects aren't the best, but I know it can't be helped. (Their dragon is pretty good, though. I could see Crawley sort of done like that) Opening Sequence - so excited to see! Personally, though, I really want to see the scene when Crowley runs into the burning book shop yelling for Aziraphale, he gets hosed down and reveals his yellow eyes. I want to see that so badly!

Oh yeah the fire scene! YES! Personnaly I can't wait to see the scene at then end where Azi and Crowley take their wings out. I work in the televion business, and can always tell when the effects are bad. If I can't see them, it means they are good. Here are the effects I am worried about : the snake, the apperance of the garden of Eden (if they show it), the wings, the flaming sword, the whole fire scene, the Metatron, the apperance of Death and many many other things I can't think of right now.

Sadly, I think they'll probably end up cutting out a lot of the back story stuff, just for the sake of time and stuff. Plus, unless they have a narrator, it may not flow well. I just hope they don't take out major stuff as you said. On this site here it says a four part series, and I'm not really sure exactly what that means. XD;

Four-part series? I wanna hazard a guess that each episode might be about an hour, maybe a little more? They might really be straining for time when it comes to cutting back some parts of the book. I pray it doesn't get too rushed story-wise.
Also, if they do have a narrator, I hope he's ridiculously clever. It would probably fit the humor of the story.

Yeah, i cant imagine it without having some form of narration. Like the Hitchhiker's Guide tv series! There's so much in the narration, not to mention the footnotes, that is not mentioned in the dialogue. I'm really excited to see the environments and things! Like the Them's little hangout, and Crowley's flat and Azi's bookshop, and other things. I'm just excited to see how they capture the atmosphere of the places :D As for scenes? I'm excited for Aziraphale trying to be a magician (Oh man the second hand embarrassment I got just from READING it), Dog's transformation, and the part where Crowley drives through the M25 in the burning Bentley, and the flashbacks to Agnes Nutter. Also the part where everyone comes through to ask directions to the Air Base. Love that part. Poor RP Tyler!

Oh my god yesss the Magician scene. I can't wait to see that. Every time I read that part I literally imagine Crowley facepalming from the catering table.
Ohhhhh what about the plants. I really hope they mention them.
You're right it's probably going to be CGI for all the effects. Let's just hope they get DECENT cgi for it then. :I I don't watch Merlin but I've seen some pretty terrible TV CGI. I'd love to see some nice pretty feathery wings for the two buffoons. No cheater shit like SPN pulls (aka shadow wings).
Mmm 4 parts.....yeah probably like 1hr-90mins per episode. I'm willing to bet that they're going to combine In the Beginning, Eleven Years Ago, and Wednesday. Ep 2 would probably be Thursday & Friday. Ep 3 Saturday Part 1. Ep 4 Saturday Part 2 & Sunday.

YES! Clever Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy narrator would be superb! Oh gosh, yes Magician Aziraphale scene would probably turn into a gif set classic if they do it right. Aziraphale. Azi. Azi please. Precious baby. They better mention the plants. I feel like they might since a later scene takes place in Crowley's flat when the two demons come after him towards the end. Let's all pray for decent CGI!

That'd be a great narrator choice me thinks! :3
Oh man I was at school reading that and my face was turning red from second hand embarrassment. Poor precious babu Azi.
The plants better be mentioned, I agree! And good Point. Their are parts of Crowleys flat.
PLEASE DECENT CGI. /falls over

I will cry if Crowley's plants aren't shown/explained. It's somehow such an important part of his character, haha! And how else will they explain why he has one of those plant spritzers to put the holy water in? (oops another scene im excited for) And speaking of wings, i really hope they give them both white feathery wings. I dunno, a lot of people interpret Crowley with black "demon wings," but in the book it says that the only difference between angel and demon wings was that demon wings tended to be kept a bit neater! For some reason I always really liked that little detail. Just one more thing to show how similar they are in the end

I personally like the idea of Crowley having just darker wings than Aziraphale. X3 Like a gray. Just so they're slightly different I guess~ X3;

When it comes to angel wings, I actually like to imagine that they're not all the same. Like not all angel or demon wings are all white or black, however you prefer it. I like to think that they have wings of actual birds that could reflect on their personality. I'm not sure which wings Azi or Crowley would have, but I'm pretty fond of the idea of different species of bird wings for angels and demons. Pardon me while I gush over eurasian eagle owl wings Those are the wings I'd want as an angel.

Yeah, I agree that they might have different types of wings, or have different ways of presenting their wings (since they probably have some control over their appearance), but probably tv shows won't go into that much detail, you know? I just dont like the Angel vs Demon wings idea for GO, where you have demons with black scary wings and angels with fluffy white ones.
Those are some cool wings though, Alice! I love birds and the different wing types are so interesting to me
Hah, Ive got to stop now before i start rambling about birds /ollies outie

I would love to see some interesting wings aside from the typical white or black. Or just sort of more realistic look. At least sort of mottled or bird like. Not pristine and perfect, but idk. xD I'm happy with anything really. Just as long as they're awe-inspiring because gosh I love angel wings.
