I must say that this is one of the few endings of a book that I felt very happy with, heck satisfied even. It's always hard for me when the book I'm reading and love is coming to a close, but the way it finishes leaving the lives of each character fairly open-ended. I really love that.
Actually, I think my favorite part of the ending (aside from Aziraphale's and Crowley's) is Newt's and Anathema's. I don't know if it's just me, but I really love how the two receive a package of another prophecy book and while Anathema's instinct is to pick it up and study it, Newt stops her.
Does she really want to be a descendant her whole life? I really love that question, because it's a really deep question to Anathema. Does she want to live a life of a Witch's descendant her whole life or does she want to live her own life full of surprises instead? It's interesting and really puts Anathema in a spot to choose whether she wants to think for herself or not. I just really appreciate it.
What path do you think Anathema chose and what other character "conclusions" did you like or dislike?
